Choirs Offered
Bel Canto This ensemble is open to women in grades 9-12. Major emphasis falls on vocal development, music reading skills, ear training, and the study of varied choral literature for women's voices. Students perform in concerts, solo and ensemble activities, music festivals, assemblies, musicals and other special events. Most entering freshmen women will enroll in this ensemble. No audition is required. Men's Choir This ensemble is open to men in grades 9-12. Major emphasis falls on vocal development, music reading skills, ear training, and the study of varied choral literature for men's voices. Students perform in concerts, solo and ensemble activities, music festivals, assemblies, musicals, and other special events. All entering freshmen men will enroll in this ensemble. No audition is required. Concert Chorale Concert Chorale is an advanced choir consisting of students who are continuing a study of continued vocal development, music reading skills, ear training and the study of more complex choral literature. Students participate in frequent appearances and concerts both on and off campus. Students will perform in concerts, music festivals, assemblies, musicals, and other special events. Solo and small ensemble activities are encouraged in this ensemble. Membership in Select Chorale is through audition only. Chorale is open to students in grades 10-12. G-Harmony G-Harmony is an auditioned choir consisting of men and women from grades 9-12 who are involved in some aspect of the performing arts. Students will experience a variety of vocal styles including pop a cappella, vocal jazz, musical theater and chamber music. The choir will perform frequently during the day and evening acting as goodwill ambassadors for the school. This includes traditional music department concerts but can include performing the national anthem at events, caroling throughout the community, and performing at solo and ensemble in the spring. G-Harmony rehearses twice per week; one rehearsal before school and one rehearsal after school |
